From late night shopping and craft stalls to Victorian Christmas markets and German-themed fairs, check out this year’s round up of festive events.
Whether you’re just looking for a great family day out or you’re stuck with ideas for great gifts, Surrey has options in plenty.
The size and reputation of the Fair has grown over the years and 2017 is set to have over 60 stalls of independent boutiques and an even bigger range of products to tempt the discerning shopper, from gifts and clothing to Christmas decorations and delicious food stalls.
Loseley House will host the Rural Crafts Association Christmas Fair again this year. The four day event will start on Thursday November 16 and end on Sunday November 19. TBC
Located in the striking Guildford Cathedral is the ever popular Christmas Gift & Food Fair. Make sure to check out all the gifts, decorations and of course food and drink that will be on offer. The fair will be open 10am until 4pm. Tickets are £3 for adults and children under 16 years old can attend for free.
If last year was anything to go by, the traditional Christmas Market at St Mary’s Church in Reigate will have over 30 stalls for visitors to explore. There will be gift and crafts stalls, children’s activities and festive food and drink.
Handpicked for Dorking will be selling an array of creative and festive bespoke gifts at the Crossways Community Baptist Church on Junction Road. Entry to the market is free and it will run from 11am until 3pm. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for more details.

This is one for the festive foodies! The Bevan’s butchers counter will be taking orders for Christmas Day whilst Leopard Dairy will be helping shoppers choose the perfect cheeseboard selection. Loseley Bakery will be selling festive cakes and mince pies. The market is free to enter and will be open Saturday from 9am until 5pm, and on Sunday 11am until 4pm.
19 November – 31 December
Kingston Christmas Market is held in the Ancient Market Place. This German-themed fair will be held for over a month and over 100 stalls in wooden chalets will be selling a whole host of festive goods. Mulled wine will be flowing at the outdoor bar and there is German street food and live music too.
Step back in time with Watts Gallery’s Victorian Christmas Fair that is worlds away from the hustle and bustle of high street Christmas shopping. Find handmade gifts and cards to send to loved ones or maybe make your own; there will be opportunities to make festive decorations such as gift tags, wreaths, paper angels and much more.
Priory Farm is known for supporting local food producers who come together for the Christmas Food Festival to showcase the best in seasonal fare. This is an excellent chance to get some unique festive food for your Christmas table.
Entry is free and the festival is open 10am until 4pm on Saturday 25 November, and 10.30am until 4pm on Sunday 26 November.
27 November & 11 December
Denbies is hosting two evenings of late night shopping and crafts in the run up to Christmas this year. Both evenings will be filled with gifts, music, carol singing, free mulled wine and mince pies, from 5-8pm.
On 11 December, guests can also expect a visit from Santa. Admission is free.
Because Christmas is the perfect time to support a good cause, head to the Shooting Star Chase Christmas and Craft Fayre at Bourne Hall. All the proceeds will go to the charity’s children hospices. There will be lots of festive stalls, a raffle and a visit from Father Christmas.
The event starts at 10.30am and will end at 3pm. Tickets are £1 for adults and children can attend for free.
Reigate Business Guild Christmas Fayre & Light Switch On has become one of the biggest events on the town’s calendar. This year expect market stalls, live local music, donkey rides, street food and free parking. And did we mention there will be a mystery celebrity turning on Christmas lights?
The event will run from midday to 5pm and the admission is free with free parking also available!
