We all know that the phrase “new year, new me…” is overused, but in our case it was very relevant! We’ve been making some great changes to This Is Our Town since the beggining of 2017 and now all is finally ready to go!
First and foremost, we’ve created a mobile-first platform, allowing you to access all of our content from your mobile with much more ease. Easy to read, to browse and to scroll, all previous mobile issues have now been solved giving you all a much more user-friendly experience.
It’s not just our mobile site that has seen changes – our website has been entirely revamped with a new layout and design, improving it’s usability and allowing you to access all of your favourite content quicker and easier.
Our new hub site, thisisourtown.co.uk, will showcase all of our best articles for all of our sites and allow you to access content for other towns besides your own. The areas we now cover are Kingston, Richmond, Wimbledon & Wandsworth, Elmbridge and Guildford.
In addition, we’ve recently launched three new Facebook pages: Eat Drink Party.London (for the food-loving, drink-loving, party animals amongst us), Mums On The Town (for all you mummies + daddies looking for things to do with the kids) and This Is Our Town Travel (for those who have caught the travel bug and are in search of inspiration!).
Finally, new for 2017, we’re creating partnerships with local businesses, offering a “Community Membership” – for just £250 a year, your business can be featured across our social network platforms (with the potential to reach over 30,000 local people), be featured in its own unique editorial piece as well as have a listing both on our directory page and under our new ‘Local Services’ tab on our website.
